On The Other Side

CC BY

Everyone knows the phrase,

"The grass is greener on the other side."

It symbolizes that things will get better.

But what is this grass?

The grass that is supposed to be greener on the other side.

Why do I want it?

How long would it take me to get to the other side?

What if I never reach the other side?

I could spend my whole life,

Making strides to get to the other side when I drop dead on arrival.

And it isn't fair that there are already others on the other side.

Others that are more priveldged than me,

Others that are born to be successful.

What about me?

I am left to be on the bad side.

That goes to show I am of no worth.

I will make no impact, nor change,

Until I reach the greener other side.
