On our Anniversary

A ripe moon lights up the night,
Clouds casting dappled shadows on my love.
She coyly plays hide-and-seek,
In the star studded sky.

The soft summer breeze,
Tease your curls,  occasionally,
Letting me see your lovely face,
And the twinkle in your eye.

We talk through the night,
Sharing memories,
About places visited, people we met,
And so many things yet left to try.

Soon dawn beckons.
Reminding us that life is calling,
Leaving those past precious moments,
Familiar as a reprise.

Long after you have gone,
Your sweetness will linger on me,
And these memories cause,
My happy tears to dry.

Today marks an anniversary,
Of our shared time together,
I wish for many life times more,

To spend together with you in eternity.
