Our Bitter Pleasantries

A memory of you

Once live in living color

Full of laughter and joy

Moments, so many good

Yet so many more bad

Pick and choose

Choose and pick

Can't keep my story straight

Feeling one way with you

Feeling so differently with another

I start to feel my heart concave

Thinking of our past

Our mistakes

Forgiveness can go on for so long

The stopping point is the toughest

Withdrawing my emotions

Retracting back into what I once was

Scared and frightened of hurt

Freedom of you brings new life

I've stopped hurting

I've starting breathing

I'm learning to love myself

Moving on is beautiful experience

But here I am again

Thinking and feeling

The memory of you

A story that still needs to be written is the only kind worth reading.
