Our Blizzard
He walked to the bar in a blizzard
He won't even try to change
Spends his life wasting his days
Still, I will always love him, my father,
My problems, the reason I bleed
I say, “but if you love me...”
Still he continues to leave
I walked to his house in a blizzard
I went there to cry to ask you why
You said it was because you loved me
But if you loved me you would have gotten help
You would want to show me the best parts of yourself
Your laugh, your knowledge, your love for me
But you don’t, you won’t
Now, I don’t believe your lies
After all, how could I?
