Our Broken Pair
Dear My Other Half,
I stayed up all night, knowing that we had a fight
Laying there, I constantly told myself everything’s going to be alright
Leaving me stranded like someone lost on an unknown island was more than enough
But what you turned out to do with me made the situation even more tough
I try to hide the pain when I’m around you,
It comes flooding back when I see you laughing through
Why am I here faking a smile and dying deep down inside?
While I see you so happy with your heart open wide
You finally taught me what it feels like to be treated like an old toy
To be betrayed by the person who did nothing but destroy
How many times have you told me the same reason which I know is a lie?
It all came true when you walked past me with your last goodbye
One day you will realize that you were wrong
Everywhere that you go, you’ll be reminded that you shouldn’t have quickly moved on
Then you’ll need me back, but remember that I’ll be gone
I guess it was true that we were never meant to be for our hearts didn’t belong together
Our friendship was broken because you turned out to be too clever
You might deny it now, but one day you will realize that I was right
But time will be gone and you will be left alone on a starry night
Even though we don't talk, I still hear your voice everywhere
Now there’s no point in telling you because I know you don’t care
Just remember one thing,
You’re the reason behind our broken pair
Sincerely,
Your Forgotten Half
