Our Broken World

Do you not sympathize for my deterioration?

Do you not see what you are doing to me?

My surface is cracking from the droughts that tear me apart

My air is hard to breathe in

The glaring sun is burning my body apart

Fire comes out of me

My astonishing mountains are stripped of the snow they crave so deeply

Nothing is lasting

How must I carry on?

When humans overlook all that I do

My luxurious green jewelry that decorates my surface have been chopped down

Axes, Saws, and Grinders rip them from their land

How do you think they feel?

With every piece of trash thrown away there is less and less room for us

With every factory that is built my lungs are filled with dust

The air becomes heavy and soon it will be impossible to breathe

Please let me rest for I will not last forever

Do you see how much pain I am in

So many of my precious species driven to extinction

I cry and cry everyday but my rains are simply evaporated away

Despite this I still have one hope

Hope that consumes me that brings me happiness

The hope that I can rejuvenate myself with my tears

I place dew drops on the grass every night

And everyday it fails so I cry again

Maybe one day my dew drops will cleanse the world and I will be whole again

One day, one day, one day.
