Our Cherry Tree
Our cherry tree
Not my cherry tree
Not my dad’s cherry tree
Not my mom’s cherry tree
Our cherry tree
Our cherry tree is far older than I am; it speaks words of wisdom when the wind will let it speak
Our cherry tree has seen many things and gained vast amounts of knowledge that it shares with you if you listen very carefully on a breezy night
The cherry tree stands as tall as a skyscraper and is as strong as a rhinoceros
It offers homes to the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks of the neighborhood
It provides life all around it when it drops its cherries for all the animals to eat
Then in the fall it paints a magnificent picture on all its leaves of all different reds, browns, and greens
Sadly, one day our cherry tree will be cut down
Made into something new
Always wanting to serve someone no matter if it is a cabinet, table, or house
Our cherry tree
Not my cherry tree
Not my dad’s cherry tree
Not my mom’s cherry tree
Our cherry tree
