Our Childhood Tower
As a child, there are many things which you are told,
That you will come to understand,
once you grow old.
Yet with each passing clock hand,
and with heavy growing heart.
You learn these things and silently they tear your world apart.
Time no longer functions by the desire of your soul.
Instead of sunrise and set, your warden is the schedule of the day.
And as you fight to fulfill another's dream, life starts to take its toll.
Bedtime stories become the night's lonely hours.
You count the minutes on the clock in leu of raindrops on the sill.
And now we'll wish life ws spent within our childhood tower.
