Our Conversation of Macbeth
Was our fall inevitable my love,
Words can be tempting, and we did something terrible
Sadly, we got caught
If you ignored the witches, would we be here?
If you didn’t learn about your future, would it have still been true?
We made a lot of mistakes, yet we fulfill our destiny
If the divine right of kings were true, how did you get there
And I, the initiator
Would like to apologize
I could not tell apart between what I should’ve done and wanted to do
And it brought great pain to us
More pain than the dagger you speak of could have ever inflicted
Excited yet afraid, stronger yet weak
To me you are a hero, brought down by his environment
The more important question is why not how
Why did we fall, because I was not brutal enough
Why was I tempted, because my character was in question
Why didn’t I ignore the witches, because I heard what I wanted to hear
a perpetual and restless desire of power, that only ceased after my death
Without mistakes we don’t learn,
Without choices, we aren’t free
Without freedom, we aren’t alive
Which is why I have no regrets
For doing what we desire is what makes us alive,
Which is why your apology will not be accepted my love
Be grateful for pain, as it reminds of us of happiness
Be grateful for wants, as it invokes change
Without it, we would never move forward
I was once a hero
Yet never truly happy
Now I am lesser but greater
Not so happy, yet much happier
I am Macbeth
