Our Duty

Location

We, the human race, are quick to judge

Not by choice- but experience

We humans want to be thought as much,

But sadly what we hold up high is not brilliance.

Society puts physical beauty on a platform.

The thing one should strive towards is physical attraction,

but who’s ever change the world with a storm

empowered by fashion?

We see a girl across the room with a stunning smile;

Yet she has time and time again been stung in the heart.

And the nervous boy is stealing glances for a long while;

Yet he not looking on the outside, he’s actually smart.

The beauty in the girl is not her smile; no matter how endearing,

But her courage for keeping it.

The boy could be called strange, but why not daring?

Is there really so much wrong with his passionate fit?

The human brain is designed to process quickly

Designed to take a look

Designed to make a decision

Designed for practicality; not correctness.

Therefore, We must train ourselves to know

The weak-hearted may appear healthy and strong

We must train our brains to know

Curls in your hair and a pretty face is not equal to beauty

We must train ourselves to know

the rhythm of glorious, the kindness of their song

We must train our brains to know

True beauty is not physical, for that is our only duty.
