Our Future

If time could freeze and our hearts melt into one

Sparks of spontaneity signify something has begun

But fate is at our door and grief is waking us in our bed

Desperation is pushing us towards the cliff

Hurt and regret are throwing us off the ledge.

Falling into a sea of sorrows, we know this can never be

We can never be happy together

Our future as one is impossible to foresee

The stars damned our flight one night

And now we crash into the fire below

Our fingers still are intertwined, refusing to let go.

Your words full of hollow promises are ringing in my ears

Reassuring all of my doubts and exposing my fears

Yet, I whisper to you sweet lies full of hopeful dreams

You blindly believe each one and from afar so happy we seem

Truth be true, we are tearing ourselves apart

Regardlessly, I love you, but now we must depart.

Falling into a sea of sorrows, we know this can never be

We tried to be happy together

But our future cannot proceed.

The stars damned our flight one night

And now as we crash into the fire below

Our fingers are still intertwined, refusing to let go.
