OUR GARDEN AT HOME HERE

OUR GARDEN AT HOME HERE

our garden at home here;

is full of everything’s,

of depth,

of hopes,

of dreams,

of schemes,

of tenderness,

of plenty beds,

of weeds,

of compost bins,

of growing plants,

of dirt and soil,

of sweat and toil,

of death and growth,

of picking bugs and grubs,

of selecting plenty to make a dish;

and enjoying what you choose,

our garden has come to be

much more here than just a block;

it is home;

to us.

to them we call friends,

the natives of our environment,

from mother possum and baby child

who like to run across roof with boots,

to fruit bats that plunder,

and water dragons who wander

in and out each day,

to blue tongue lizard

who paid us a visit,

and that dirty long bludger;

who dined out on next door’s chook

and curled up in shed to hibernate,

and green tree snake who’s lived with us forever,

for here at home;

this place we call our own,

we have everything!

on this our permaculture property.
