Our Government Needs A Makeover

Sometimes I look in the mirror

and see myself in fear.

What I see is a mess

and I think of a makeover and nothing less.

Our government, while always great

seems to need the same help as of late.

Special interest groups sway the vote

and make it seem the White House has a mote.

Democrats and Republicans disagree

and don't try to settle anything in a spree.

The fighting is always heated and

everything put before them just gets defeated.

If I could make a change today,

I would eliminate special interests, sending them on their way.

I would offer up big incentives for crossing party lines

and for those unwilling to work together there would be big fines.
