Our Oppression is Heavy
Our oppression is heavy
As the fog placed on our minds
Our hands bound
By preverbal action that goes unnoticed
Our hearts weighed down
By the pain of others
Our souls lay broken battered and beaten
By a system that helps only those who make it
Our dreams left kneeling
Held up only by the pride we so selfishly keep
Perpetually laughing at jokes that aren’t funny
Or else face the social consequences
Our illusions of grandeur cut off like the sentences we —
Speak
Our pain made out as a figment of imagination
Because they don’t suffer
Not all men- not all men- not all men
Not all women want to bow down and submit
Submit to a world of
Period jokes- stalkers- and rapists
Pussy, bitch, sissy
Not insults to us
Insults to our femininity
Insult our gender
Laugh at our pain
Make your jokes but remember
“A woman holds a beast an angel and a madman in her”
Which one you see is up to you
