Our Personal Universes

It’s easy to deem yourself unworthy in a universe

where everything feels bigger than you;

I find comfort in knowing that

I am my own universe.

I focus on what makes me a vast and complex subject,

and so my universe will be magnificent.

Years ago, you could have called me the scientist who

saw the rough edges under the microscope,

the tragic flaws who will eventually

cause the cease of my existence.

But I know now that am not something to be solved,

for I am not broken.

Instead of inquiring about the solution,

I focus on the lack of a problem.

Because I can love.

I share my gifts, small and large, with humanity.

I bring a smile to somebody’s face.

I laugh and inspire and laugh some more.

By disregarding my utmost insignificance in the universe,

and instead regarding my full intentions to give integrity

to the strings that weave my being with humanity,

I illuminate my purpose.
