To Our President

Dear 45

Have you taken a look outside today

Caught a glimpse of the chaos you caused today

Snuck a peek or did something to seek the havoc you’ve caused today

I can guarantee it won’t be that hard to find

Every day you have a different axe to grind

Some foolish behavior that causes our country to unwind

Hiding behind a keyboard and a cluster of men

You type away on your phone in your cush den

You tweet and squawk, carrying on like a hawk with no cares to countrymen

But you have an exception, one golden rule

If I look like you I am not treated cruel

But if I look unique, with no European heritage to speak, I am counted out as a fool

A country that was built on diversity

Led by one that preaches crudity

Torn apart by one man’s adversity

An adversity to culture, and adversity to love

An adversity to change, and adversity to freedom that floats like a dove

Everyday it’s all you see

Greeted with it on morning TV

Assaulted all day with you cries of your plea

A plea to go back to the “good old days”

A plea to return to the primitive ways

A plea to retreat to a time when my people were below your feet

Day in and day out I feel I can do nothing but watch

Watch the clock go tick tock, feeling my stomach turn in knots

Waiting for the day you make the ultimate botch

This day will come, and it will come soon

Bullets, missiles and fire will come in like a typhoon

But you will be safe, behind your four walls

You will not be afraid to walk those white halls

While you still hide behind the mask of it all

So take a look outside today

Take a look and maybe you’ll see me pray

Because this could be our last day
