Our "relationship"

Look back at the past 3 yrs: you came and left & I stayed till the end. You held me hostage & I had you free. I couldn't escape this & you looked in at me; you were where I wanted to be, whether you knew it or not. Unconsciously I let you call the shot that would win the jack pot of our lives. My life combined with yours was no surprise to those who thought they knew us, but they were surprised when we no longer stood for what they thought we would've.
