our song

your fingers traced my spine as if they

were strumming the strings of a guitar and

you lived for the sound of music

melodies spewed from my lips and they

made you want to dance

you wrote the lyrics with your tongue

that night and it became my favorite song

kept it on repeat until the words were memorized

and i became mesmorized by the beating of the drum

and soon our song was the only thing i listened to

i became familiar with every note and

every chord

and we became the most perfect duet
