Our Star

Magnificent is a single star

Never leaving us

Even though the day

Doesn't want us to see it

We know that it is there

That single star

The murky blue of night

The bright blue of day

If a star is always there

How do we see it only at night

It is because of the day

It is popular for hiding our star

The night closes in

The day gives it a chance

A chance for the star to be there

For the star to let us see

We see our single star

Watching over the night

Hi, I am N. Rose. This poem is something that I wrote three years ago over Christmas. This whole thing is a metaphor. Our star is Jesus, our Lord and Savior. The night is God, trying to keep the star visible. The day is the devil, trying to hide the star from our grasp. I hope that you understand that Jesus will shine bright, like a star, no matter what. Even though during the day, we can't see the stars, they are still there, in space, shineing and twinkling. Jesus is a star that will last forever, a star that will shine bright for us for eternity. He will never die. He will never go away. He is our star, never leaving us.
