Our Version of Events

One thing, but many eyes see differently. Do we really know the honest truth? We could sit and record as much as we can fit on our papers And shout it to the world as we see fit But will anyone understand the workings of our minds? Yes, they HEAR you! But do they really understand it the way you do? We watch the clouds, the same clouds And yet, you see a flower and I see a mouse Are we really watching the same cloud? This one thing, that many eyes see so differently? We listen to a song To me, it is beautiful, but to you it is not Do we really hear the same song? This one thing, yet many ears hear differently. We read a poem in English class, our teacher asks us to share our thoughts Why don't they sound the same? This one thing, yet many minds think differently. We could spend the rest of our lives trying to find the truth But the truth is, everything we relay will be nothing more Than our version of events
