Our World and You


You were the hijab, I wear the cross,

Yet neither dictates who is the boss.

You're proud to be black, you're proud to be white,

And still we try to dictate who is right.

We love to show our courage for being gay, stright, and trans.

While our world is stuck in its way trying to make bans.

He is rich, she is poor.

While someone right now is crying helplessly inside a war.

Criticism and racism is all around,

With honesty and integrity barely to be found.

Now you might think that there claims are quite absurd,

Until you realize they are the only thing to ever be heard.

We are all waling lost blinded by fear,

Hoping to be guided home by someone near.

We need a hero to bring us home,

No matter how far we may roam. 

This hero we need must be honest and true,

This hero that we need mi
