Ourselves or Somebody Else?

It takes awhile to find ourselves in a world where everyone wants us to be somebody else. We have to keep our heads high and have pride in ourselves in a world that wants us to be somebody else. We have to remember to love ourselves and trust ourselves in a world that wants us to be somebody else. Being somebody else other than yourself can break you, confuse you, anger you, and hurt you. In this world they say you have to do this, do that, wear this a certain way. How about we do it our way? How about we defend ourselves and believe in ourselves in a world that wants us to be somebody else? How about we think for ourselves and do the right things for ourselves instead of doing the wrong things for somebody else. Let's stop depending on people to make us happy and find happiness ourselves, stop wasting every emotion on somebody else . Let's recognize our flaws and be real to ourselves in a world that wants us to be somebody else.

The whole poem is my favorite because it encourages people to grow on their own and do what makes them happy instead of trying to please other people. It encourages people to stand on their own and don't ever change for anyone.
