Out of the Box
Silently I wait in the darkness, the sounds outside only muffled
The air was thick, bodies compressed rears to rears
We sensed nothing but the passing of time, time shuffled
A sudden flash then BOOM, eyes blinded, crumbled ears
Down from the heavens came God's hand
I climbed on and flew o'er the prison
Warmth of the stars filled my soul and lit the land
I turned to see behind me the face of God had risen
Expected greetings of rapture replaced with hate
The rose blinds opened to reveal sharp daggers' shine
With faint attempts to hold on I slip into my fate
Bodies of my brethren mangled with mine
In my final moments the prisoners learn
Of the safety of the bastille and how the comdemned wished to return
