Out of Darkness

To write

Is to climb

Out of  the

dark

dark

deep hole I am in

Screaming loud enough for those around me to hear

With words powerful enough to break their walls

Gaining courage as I go along

Using a simple pen and paper as my friend.

Each stanza is another step

Another inch closer to the light

Shining brighter with each

thought

memory

glimpse into who I am

Writing

Is to connect with myself

And others

Explaining what I feel

In one of the simplest

Yet most complex ways possible

All I have to do

Is keep

Writing

Writing

Writing

Until I finally see the light again.
