Out with the old, In with the New

Dear world changers, I have a little advice for you,

Imagine joining a dead branch onto a live tree.

Its fragile limbs become limber again,

as it produces buds, leaves, and fruits.

First it was characterized by death, but now,

it is characterized by life.

As we apply this to our life,

we understand that the only way to truly reconnect with jesus christ, is to

sacrafice our old selves with him.

You see, the branch cannot produce without the support of the tree,

the same way we cannot be saved without Jesus in our life.

through the symbol of baptism, we were raised with Christ,

there was not other way that someone so majestic would sacrafice their life.

Going back to that branch, joining the live treee,

no more dirt and dead leaves,

the branch is now clean.

United, the branch will produce new fruits and leaves.

The same way,

we are to live that life.

Jesus Christ is the live tree,

and we are the dead branch.

When we are joined with Christ,

we become ressurected with Him in a new life,

and leave our old life behind.

We struggle against our sinful tendencies,

reason is because we hope to be dead to sin,

when we are really, dead in sin.

Our Christian life is not a game,

so, stop hitting play.

We are so involved with judging peoples' lives,

but what are we doing to save our salvation with Christ.

We laugh at others striving to maintain their relationship with God,

while as so called "Christians",

we can't maintain going to church on a regular basis.

You see I don't mean to be rude,

but I know what he Bible says is true,

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;

old things have passed away, and look, new things have come."

So, if the new life is in you,

God's word must shine through you.

Don't forget the branch in the tree,

the leaves and fruits it will bring.

Many will look at it because its new and clean.

I am trying to tell you,

that this how we should be.

The Bible says by their fruits you'll know,

so, the new life in you should glow.

when Jesus died,

we died to sin,

when Jesus was buried,

through water were also, buried in.

When Jesus was raised,

in the same way,

we must raised and live for Him

#newlife.

So now as I finish this poem,

I realize, living a new life is not THAT hard.

Obey God and submit to Him,

and you'll see how everything else will fall in.

You might think it's hard,

because of what you must let go,

video games, friends, Twitter, Facebook,

the list can go on,

but let's not forget about boyfriends and girlfriends,

and snapchat streaks too.

Again, I don't mean to be rude,

but if you're walking in the new life,

it must show through you.

But don't go living a new life,

for easy life blessings.

So, go on and live a new life in Christ,

and when you get to Heaven,

a crown for you, will be presented.

                                        Sincerely, Jhaeryss F.
