Out of place

Early morning searching with my mind wrapped in a towel

drying out my substance ... before I ever got wet.

Living contradiction ... of a chosen cohabitation,

that somewhere in the past ... got far beyond it’s task.

It is as clear as water ... glistering in the light

patterned by a hand ... that cannot be seen.

Maybe after all ... the design was surely given

with simple direction ... to satisfy my being.

Set on a table ... where it seems out of place

a life that develops fully ... in the space allowed.

All seems so crowded ... in the stillness of the face

that appears out of nowhere ... tightly closed in mouth.

Thoughts are gathering slowly like clouds before the storm

turning light to darkness ... with here and there a flash.

Emotions packed together ... with no place to go

a lasting condition ... that seems build on the past.
