From the out side in

Never judge a book by its cover, well that's what I was always told. But how could you not in this world that's so cold? In this world that's so cruel, that makes you feel so alone. I've always told myself, what matters is what's inside, But not to this world that makes me feel like I want to die. Like I want to run away and hide, behind the pain closed within, But that's just me, only looking from the outside in. I mean, who am I to judge? Am I not human, or do I believe I am God? Each day I walk my path not knowing what's ahead, Not knowing how my image will be portrayed or read. My life, my choices, that's what I always said, But how can I keep focus with all these thoughts running through my head? My mind is wondering, going astray, pondering, deciding whether or not to move forward or just stop. I mean everyone is quick to criticize, when there not the ones wearing the shoe, but it's their life, their choice, so what are we to do? I run fast, in this path called life, and when things get tough, I choose to sacrifice. My heart beats fast, and I gain the adrenalin, as I stop to look from the outside in. Our minds are set, we've done all that we can, but why are we so stubborn to accept that helping hand? Is it our pride that makes us feel so invincible, indestructible and indivisible? Or is it our ego that doesn't want to be portrayed as a failure and would rather be invisible? Life is a challenge, the opponent full of our sins, left up to us to fight it in the rim, there's no time to give up now; we're fighting from the outside in.
