Outer Space
The universe, dark and deep,
is what I dream of when I sleep.
Others do but I do not,
think of heaven when I am distraught.
I think of stars and planets far,
I watch them twinkle as I sit in my car.
I’ll sit on a hill as the sun sets,
hoping it isn’t my last breath.
Hoping I again get to see
the stars and planets I wish could belong to me.
If I could pull a star from the sky
I would keep it till the day I die.
When my legs are weak and I can’t go outside,
I will take a peep of my star and dare not sigh.
If I could choose where I go when I pass,
I’d love to be a part of that great mass.
Outer space is where I will be,
but please oh please do not come try to find me.
