Outgrow up

You know, they say

"Don't blame children for that behavior, they were just raised that way..."

And, I agree, I think

But if you do not blame them,

they do not change

they do not grow

when i was younger, I was not

a good person.

i was mediocre, at best.

with a false sense of superiority and "Aboveness"

all because i didn't care about others

surrounded by friends who

loved mediocrity, celebrated it

and then i realized

that was no way to live

i got new friends

they called me out

and i realized that the only

real

way to get better, is to

be forced to recognize your own choices.

face that cracked reflection, and maybe use

some glue to put it back together.

and now, i'm a broken mirror, still finding more pieces to re-attach.

but i'm trying.
