OUTSIDE THE LINES

for once in my life,I'm choosing to color outside the lines
make a mess using the spectrum of light
rebel against the current
pull away from the tide
cause everything I've ever known has made me afraid to try
and somewhere along the way i lost my sense of flight
my ability to make brush strokes in the sky
to paint my life beautiful
to attempt to try
to try even with the possibility of failure..
but you.. you saved my life
and you will never truly know it, my beloved
my hero-my beam of light
you came and saw me- just me
a girl broken and frail
hiding from the monsters under her bed
scared to put her feet to the ground
a girl hesitant to love
scared to face all that love means
who was petrified to dive in
you lifted her hands from the rails
to walk the plank
i remember you insisting "Don't hold back, don't run away".
so with everything i came
dropping the old things i had always carried with me
i came
running into the unknown
i jump
diving into the beautiful
with closed eyes i feel caution lifting from my lashes
draping over the clouds above me
and i fall into all that you are- Pure Perfection
and its simply phenomenal
