Outstanding

A single life, amidst a myriad of the dead;

Is one of the most beautiful things

I’ve ever had the pleasure to see.

Feeding from the same source as those of

Rapid decay, this single life, vibrant and whole;

Continues its existence the best it knows how.

Essentially perfect in shape size and color,

Its perfection is tainted by one flaw

The source to which it is attached stands…dying.

Still, it provides for that one single life.

Drawing nourishment from its dying source,

That single life is distinguished from the rest of

Its kind. In that those who have fed from the

Same source have died,

Where this same single life feeds and continues to live.

That single detail - the source that is detrimental to others Gives it nourishment - is what makes this single life

Outstanding.
