Outstretched Arms

My face is buried

Sunken deep

I cannot pass

Without first to leap

Outstretched arms can feel heavy

When they’re held for so long

I always hurt I never see the reason why

Then came lightning and the thunder

It struck me where I am

It made me a different man

Once deaf and mute

Now I sing on borrowed time

Never in my life would I think

That I could be strong

Or capable of anything but wrong

My time is short

Quicksand would make it longer

My heart is stopping now

If I could prolong it somehow

I would tell you all I love you

I’m sorry for all my problems

I didn’t mean for them to be yours

I really want you to know

That you are truly loved

Here my last moments flashing by

No tears for me I hope

I don’t want you to feel my pain

No one should go where I’m surely going

I know that I’m not worthy
