Over and Done

Late in the afternoon, at high tide,

I watched as the waves crashed against the shore,

Nightfall will soon be among us;

The day will soon be over and done,

And all that will be left,

Is the silence of the night,

And the way we used to talk about the infinite universe;

and the night is over and done,

Until day breaks the silence of the night,

And I can no longer remember the way you spoke so soft and beautifully,

Or the sound of your voice;

Until the day that you finally awaken the fire in my heart once again,

Until we are,

Once Again,

Under the same moon,

Talking about the infinite universe;

Together forever;

Over and done
