Over and Yet
I still long for us, time
and time
although I still have you
near me,
with me,
by me.
It’s not enough when
I feel you slipping
away, grip slacking
so I’m going to hold your hand
tighter, keep you closer
I won't
I won’t let you leave
(stop asking, please)
(why do you want to leave
so badly
when I need you
love you so)
I feel our string straining
snapping, and
it won’t last much longer
but until we run out, pushed
to the edge of this cliff
Stay?
