Over My Vacation

In class one day the teacher asked about our winter break
Starting with a classic phrase, he asked that we all partake.

"Over my vacation, I got to sleep in late."
Most kids gave praise and laughter,
and agreed his break was great.

"Over my vacation, I bought the newest game."
Other students shared this, too,
and they boasted of the name.

"Over my vacation, I got to eat a lot."
Some said 'cookies,' 'fudge,' and 'sunades,'
and it tied my stomach in a knot.

"Over my vacation..."

"Over my vacation..."

"Over my vacation..."

"Over my vacation, I witnessed an event.
The lives of millions simutaneously underwent an experience:
They were living--and I lament,
you all told me how your vacations were spent, with a nonevent,
and only I seem to know the extent at which your lives need supplement."
