Overachiever

The teacher gives an assignment,

The gears start to turn.

The message has already been sent,

My project won't be hard to discern.

I'm the girl that goes above and beyond.

The one that likes a challenge.

I need to write a poem, so I'll make it a song.

Do that, I have the advantage.

I hear that it's "too hard"

Just do the work and you'll see

An overachiever isn't far,

From what I want to be.
