Overcome

I overcame my depression, sadness, and self recession

By teaching myself a lesson

On what it would be like by going to heaven,

Then being kicked back down to hell

Nowhere to scream and shout

I'm starting to yell

I was unhappy and I was able to tell

I tried anything that was able to help

Professional therapists and books on the shelf

I wanted to really benefit myself

I didn't want my parents sad and keep them in the blues

I really tried my best to give them the clues

That I was depressed and didn't know what to do

They eventually caught on and gave me the news,

"Chris you know we're here for you!"

Friends and family here for support.

For years, I was fighting my depression like a constant war.

Finally overcame it and I got my mind straight

That my mind may wander and my body may ache,

But my happiness, my depression will never take.

I have overcome.
