Overcome
Standing in the blinding sun,
Yet feeling cold as winters snow.
Swimming in the calmest waters,
Yet drowning under waves of dubiety.
Sitting within a young tree’s shade,
Yet burning with anguish and pain.
Breathing in the purest air,
Yet suffocating with forgotten emotions.
Watching the beauty of vibrant flowers,
Yet feeling dull and outcasted.
Seeing the serenity of fluffy clouds,
Yet left in a chaotic turmoil of uncertainty.
Leaning against the bark of a mighty oak,
Yet succumbing to the weakness of loathing.
Watching the graceful beauty of nature,
Yet forgetting the beauty of soul.
Forgetting the love all creatures deserve.
Watching as a once beautiful soul,
Becomes only a shattered memory.
As a once caring person;
Is overtaken by the darkness of life,
Overcome by tendrils of evil.
Until the soul remains,
nevermore.
