Overcoming
Everywhere you go there’s someone who hates you
Everything you do holds life’s consequences and connections
We do what we like and like what we do
We’re spinning and falling, jumping and throwing
Life into a balance that’s only our own
When people first dance they think it’s easy
Then they’re afraid of a getting a little dizzy
They’re afraid to show off their body, free the flow of their moves
Because everyone you see is better than you
Everything you do is slow and awkward
You’re losing to the hare and dropping your shell
When you came here to dance I saw your potential
A partner, a helper, my own reflection
So when I come up to you, you’re petrified of reprobation
Don’t be afraid of my unyielding impression
I’ll help you lose that sense of despair
Which binds you with its frozen stare
I’ll teach you to fly and jump and turn
And lead you onward to unleash your inner-self
So you learn to dance with passion and exhilaration
A new sensation born from past impression
That strives for freedom from the past
Opening new pathways beyond imagination
