Overdose Dreams

The dark, cool room.

I am in your arms.

I am your doom.

I will be the death of you.

I want you to know,

I've been here too long.

Years and years.

Tear after tear.

I need to go.

I can't die.

Only cry.

I've watched lovers die.

Taken by envious seraphs.

Casting them down left and right.

Ripping out souls

in the dead of night.

Not caring who it affects.

Leaving young girls screaming in their sleep.

Shaking; gripping sheets.

Trying to take her life.

She can't succeed.

Her lover is always there..

In spirit it seems.

She can only see him

in overdose dreams.
