The Overflowing Well

Humans have many necessities,
Food, shelter, and good clean water.
The water they needed flooded through cities,
Through a well of ever-lasting water.

One day, the well was having fun,
And was very excited with the friends it made.
Its joy of having fun blasted like a gun,
And flowed through the shelters that were made.

Humans came together for assistance,
In quelling this overwhelming emotion.
They quickly made a lid of resistance,
Which stopped the waters motion.

Centuries have passed with no bound,
The children of old have found the well dear.
With shame, they opened the well and they found,
A single water drop with a little salt.
