An Overpowering Silence

Impulses twitch under layers of silence, A silence that bellows to stumbling fingers And tangled minds. The intake of flavors Too strong for our tongues To taste, It wrenches words from the soft Tendrils in our skulls in a translation From observation To recreation. The mother who has clung to what’s Too far away, The wide brown eyes leaking torment Into earth floors, The celestial tear Grasping the comfort of the window pane. The tumultuous clarities that expand a toy-like Human mind into a demonstrator Of truths. The silences Heard by those who see, Not the brushstrokes on a forgotten canvas, But the dust drowsily lying across its picture.
