My mindset is Malcolm X so I'll teach the youth to read and to use the brain as a tool/

Malcolm preached Black Nationalism but a Black man left holes in him/

Can Blacks unite?/

I overheard someone say all Blacks do is fight/

And on videos they call a brother "nigga" and a sister a "hoe" pertraying a stereotype to make industry "dough"/

IGNORANCE needs to be OVERTHROWN/

So I guess I'll reach the youth through radical poems/

And I'll connect with the "oldheads" who came up on Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane and Gil Scott-Heron/

I feel like we're in need of a new Black Arts Movement/

I studied the works of Amiri Baraka and Gwendolyn Brooks and my own writing started improving/
