The Owl

A wise one in the trees

looking down upon us

as his wings move through the breeze.

Yet, he chooses to stay and not fly away,

and methinks he has no being, no will

for all he does is stare at the world

with the wide look in his eyes.

Though his mind is turning,

and he seems to know

of a secret that we may never find.
