Oxygen

She loved the sloped curves and loops they made, the way they tasted in her mouth, and sounded when she talked.

She lived and breathed for these words, on the tip of her tongue, in the back of her throat.

She loved the sound of them as they escaped her perfect lips, sounding like music, tasting like hope.

Letters, words, sentences strung together were, in her world, oxygen.
