Oxygen

Flowing in and out,

a reflection of my surroundings,

molded by my unique perspective.

I hear it, and it hangs there,

suspended in a thought bubble

for a single moment. Now -

reverberating through my psyche,

forming and reforming,

shape-shifting effortlessly.

You see, I'm a practical guy.

And one must consider the logistics.

It is too much for just myself -

it needs to reach the minds of many,

forming and reforming in their brains,

shape-shifting into unprecedented forms

only they can imagine.

I'm constantly sketching,

orchestrating, drafting and redrafting,

even at the most inconvenient times.

It holds fiercely my conscious with

unwavering fortitude,

demanding my attention at every moment-

It screams to be released onto paper.

I simply obey.

I breathe in raw, unformed sounds,

and breathe out melodies and harmonies,

symphonies and sonatas,

preludes and processionals.

In terms of sustenance,

Mother Earth's replenisher

pales in comparison.

Music, my mind's inescapable escape,

calms my nerves,

sharpens my focus,

fuels my existence.

I am a musician, a composer, and a budding poet. I love creation, no matter what the form.
