The Paceful Warrior

You'd hardly expect

by its snail-like speed

that it's headed for battle

and ready to bleed.

Yet, just as with drought

where persistence does reign

its indefatigable patience,

a runaway train.

It spreads out tenacity

over long rolling waves

the resilient rocking

that's what it craves.

Dressed in perseverance

its armor of choice,

for 'speed of light'

we hear no rejoice.

Of little concern

the assault or the blade

when a heart of fortitude

is the method of raid.

The road to abandon

would welcome a 'quit'

But its steady gait

charms the guards of submit.

With unfaltering steps

through the bliss of fake dreams

undermining defeat

is not what it seems.
