the pages of a book

the pages of a book

taught me that boredom is ok

as long as it leads to

the exercise of a mind

actively engaged in the betterment

of itself

the pages of a book

taught me that dissatisfaction is ok

as long as it leads to

the internal struggle

involved in achieving satisfaction

for itself

the pages of a book

taught me that escape is ok

as long as it leads to

a greater, fuller perspective on reality

with itself
