The Pain

The pain couldn't wait There was no reasoning with it It hung there, a smoldering weight Snuffing out whatever light was lit. It was always lurking, Waiting for when you'd be alone. For a tiny moment of solitary thinking, It would rear up it's pointy head. A cone! Like a roaring flood Like a tireless sandstorm A million drops of hurt A million billion grain of pain. And when it seems unbearable, When you're just about to let go, It subsides, becomes manageable. Only to come worse, again. Tomorrow.
