Pain and Beauty

The color blooms out Swirling, curling, and billowing It blossoms around curves Plumes up cracks Covers scars, and imperfections Leaving beauty and creativity It turns a simple patch of skin into a canvas Paints an arm into a bird & a leg into a garden Creates a new kind of art The paint seems to erupt from the artist’s hand To form a mind of its own It shoots from a gun Leaving art in place of death Though some seem to forget… Without pain… there cannot be beauty.
